So here's what I'm gonna do

I figure it's about time I started making use of this blog, since I have it handy. I had to start it as part of my Pre-Animation course, but it's a handy alternate way to get my art out, and the more of that I can do, the better. Question is, how do I set it apart from my other outlets, like my sketchbook at ConceptArt.org which has a lot of the same images, or my deviantART.

So I'm gonna use this like a blog. No particular themes, maybe I'll link to interesting stuff, talk about my day or concerns (like still not having a job after two months), politics, or whatever. The twist, of course, is every post must have an image with it.

So that's the deal. Here's some feet to keep it legal.

Next batch

As promised (if anyone's actually reading), head tilts for days 7-9. They're getting a bit advanced for something I only intended to be shapes with three lines on them. Ah, well. Five more days (and two posts) until I take stock and see where I'm going with all this.

More heads

Days 3-6 of my head tilts. I'll post 7-9 tomorrow once I have them done. A few decent looking things in among the crap, at least.

Head Tilts

Three pages of head tilts, just quick 'n' dirty gestures to get a better idea of how the head sits and where the major features are. Not great at the moment, but give me a page a day for say, two weeks, and you'll be seeing some changes.


And say, does anyone know anything about the Sitemeter gadget? I added it with the Customize option, but all it ever does is say "Loading" twice, and never gives me anything else. What am I doing wrong, or what have they not bothered to tell me I should do? I'm lost here.

Third, yay for Nova Scotia electing an NDP government! I never thought that would ever happen. Wish I was still back there.

It's a start

So a page of figures with no reference, just a random action line and let's see what happens, and a page of feet with reference. Not bad.

A little toy to play with

The Brainstormer. Lovely little thing for writers or illustrators. I mean seriously, how cool a concept is "flight, mechanized, fairy" anyway? I've got visions of a Freakangels-esque steampunk sprite, here. Just wish my skills were far enough along to back that up.

Getting a bit better, little by little. Shame some of the darker shading on the upper body of the last one got washed out, but I can live with it.

Sorry there hasn't been much posting these days. I've mostly been just working on anatomy stuff. But it's starting to pay off, I'm getting a better and better feel for the human form as I go along, so hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be doing a lot more confident sketching.

In the meantime, here's some bones from the past few days.
