Underground Border

Something a bit different from me, graphic design. This is for my Portfolio Preparation class, we're each required to submit a border design for the end-of-year Sketched Out book, which is what we have instead of a yearbook. Basically our best stuff of our choice takes up the white area, and the shaded contains the three 30-minute drawings we did on the first day of classes in September, to show how far we've come.

My design is patterned after diagrams of the London Underground, and is entirely done in Photoshop CS2.

Dangerously Cheesy

Meet Ed Wannamaker. He was the result of my first History of Animation project, to design a character in 1940's/50's style. Turned out pretty good, I think. Gonna want to revisit this one at some point, I think.

Howse!

For some reason I've been sketching cartoon houses lately. Here are a couple of rather crowded sketchbook pages of the silly beasts.

You may notice a box-related theme, but it's just your imagination. Really. You should see a doctor about that.

Change of plans

I've been keeping this as a homework blog for the past four months, but it seems that this particular experiment has failed. It's too unweildy to retrieve the homework from all the students this way, and then get revisions back by another method. So there won't be any more homework posted here, starting from here forwards.

Instead, I'll try to keep the place updated with the best work that comes out of my course, and possibly aside from course work, over the next few months. I'll probably keep it up after that as a general art blog, so hopefully it'll be worth following.

I'd been meaning to start an art blog, so I guess this is the perfect chance, eh?
